Why I Give Wedding Day Homework

Why I Give Wedding Day Homework

Preparing For Your Wedding Day

Brides, I am SO excited to be apart of one of the biggest moments in your life, the first day of your marriage! I can’t wait to celebrate with you in this special moment. Your wedding day will be filled with so much joy, excitement, and love.

One thing that I have all of my brides do a week before their wedding day, is what I call, “wedding day homework.” I give this to my brides so that their day is relaxing and runs as smoothly as possible. On my wedding day homework is a list of all your wedding details. I tell my brides to have all of your details ready in one spot (normally in a tote for the smaller items) so that when I arrive on wedding day, I can take all of your details and start to photograph them. It’s SO much easier for both my brides and myself to have the details all in one place!

Here is what I include in my wedding day homework:

• All 3 Rings (Engagement Ring, His Wedding Band, Her Wedding Band)

• Jewelry (Earrings, Necklace, Bracelet, etc…)

• Perfume Bottle

• Garder

• Wedding Invitation Suite

• Wedding Shoes

• Veil

• Bouquet

• Wedding Dress

• Extra Wedding Florals (A few will do)

• Any special details you will have or will be wearing

These are all the items I include in my wedding day homework. I find that by having all the items together, it not only helps the getting ready/detail photos but it’s less stress for my brides. Instead of worrying where all the details are (Who has the rings? Where did I put my Grandma’s bracelet? Can you find my perfume? etc…) they are all safely prepared in one spot!

I encourage my brides to have a few extra wedding florals. This helps me style your wedding details in an extra special way. By having some loose florals, your wedding photos from start to finish carry your theme and details throughout the day.

I also tell my brides to include any special details that are unique to you! If you are wearing any special family heirloom or have any special detail, bring it along! I want to be sure to capture all the pretties on your day!
