Schiller Park Engagement

I rolled out of bed at 5:00 AM. I had already picked out my outfit, grabbed my photo gear, and headed out the door. It was still dark outside as I was driving to Schiller Park in German Village. I was SO excited for this sunrise engagement session! Any couple that volunteers to have a sunrise session truly wins the heart of a wedding photographer.
My favorite times to photograph are during golden hour, which happens twice a day during sunrise and sunset. My week was completely booked for engagement sessions and Seneca had her heart set on this particular week. When I suggested a sunrise session, she and James were SO excited!
When we arrived at Schiller Park, we had the entire park completely to ourselves. The sun started to rise over the horizon and it was gorgeous. The softest golden light filled the landscape. Confession: I think I like sunrise better than a sunset! The lighting was just so magical and soft!
Seneca and James met at work two years ago! They clicked right away and knew they were meant to be. It’s so true when you know, you know! James proposed on Christmas morning last year. He placed the ring in Seneca’s stocking and she was completely surprised! It was such a sweet and intimate moment between them and their daughter, Lacey, around the Christmas tree! So romantic!!
I have a soft spot for Christmas engagements as Musa proposed on Christmas Eve! It’s such a magical time of year and to add an engagement on top of that is something one will never forget! They call it the best time of year for a reason! 🙂
I’m SO excited to see these two tie the knot this fall! Congratulations to Seneca and James on your engagement! I can’t wait to be apart of your special day!
