5 Wedding Dress Trends in 2019

5 Wedding Dress Trends in 2019

Researching a Bridal Topic the Classic Way

Call me a traditionalist, but I prefer paper books over the e-books. Don’t get me wrong; I love the convenience of my iPad allowing me to have any text instantaneously. But as a writer, I miss the sensory experience a paper book offers which the Kindle lacks. I miss the look and the feel of the paper book within my hands. I miss that faint chemical smell from a newly published book or the sweet vanilla or sometimes almond smell from old books. I miss the friction of my fingers against the paper making a crackle swish sound and the robotic motion of licking my index finger to help turn the page to the next written thought. And the only setting adjustments required for paper books are a comfortable position, light from the environment, and my reading glasses. So when I found I had a two-hour layover at the Philadelphia Airport, I decided to research this bridal topic the classic way. I ditched my computer, grabbed a cup of herbal tea and purchased a couple of bridal magazines. Sure, I could save money researching wedding trends on the metallic laptop, and for the most part, I do. But today, I felt the call from my inner journalist to experience a nostalgic magazine investigation into the top five wedding dress trends in 2019.

The Meghan Markle Effect

The bridal designers were undoubtedly inspired by the marriage of Megan Markle and Prince Harry. Monique Lhuillier titled her designer collection “Regal Understated Elegance” with the inclusion of elements like the v-neck lace body, cathedral train, and natural waist.

Lilac

The bridal industry once called it lilac, but today, it’s called melodramatic purple. Either way, the addition of a lavender hue to the wedding gowns have replaced the usual pink and blue hues. It’s a touch of refreshing color for spring of 2019!

Classic Ball Gowns

Clean, regal and a timeless choice, the classic ball gown has never gone out of style. And that was the case in practically every designer’s show for spring of 2019!

Pants of Every Kind

This trend was my favorite! Bridal pants and jumpsuits that were chic, romantic and fun! I personally think this is a winner. This trend was fresh and modern. Even if you wear a gown walking down the aisle,  the pants/jumpsuit is perfect for your bridal shower or your second reveal at your reception!

Tiered Layers

Want the drama of a ball gown without the weight. Then a tiered layered wedding dress is a perfect choice. They are romantic and practically made for twirling and dancing the night away. The cinched waist lays nicely for a flattering fit. So there you have it, my brides-to-be!  The wedding dress trends for spring 2019. Now I am off to catch my flight!
