Our Family Vacation To Jamaica South Coast Sandals Resort

Jamaica

A much-needed vacation

You guys, we went to Jamaica over Christmas!! A little backstory, Musa and I really wanted to go away on vacation and one night (over a bottle of wine) we found this amazing trip to Jamaica through The Sandals Resort! Before the bottle of wine was finished, we had already booked our flight!!

We went to South Coast Sandals Resort in Whitehouse Jamaica. We left a few days before Christmas when it was SO cold here in Columbus, Ohio. It was so nice to go to warm weather and by warm, a constant 85 degrees! We arrived in Montego Bay and had a 2-hour ride to the opposite end of the island. The drive didn’t seem long at all! We passed through sugar cane fields, banana trees, orange trees, little goats on the side of the road and Jamaican life! I love visiting new places and this place was so tropical!

When we arrived at the resort we were greeted with cold lemon towels and champagne! A great way to start our vacation!! Our rooms weren’t quite ready so we went off and had some lunch with a lovely couple we met on our bus ride to our resort. So, for those of you who haven’t been to a Sandals Resort, everything is inclusive! Yes, the alcohol and all you can eat food!

There were 7 restaurants on our resort, two swim-up bars, and three regular bars! The food was awesome! We ate so much lobster tail, jerk chicken, and sushi!! Our favorites were Elanors, a French restaurant, The Sushi Bar, and the Jerk Shack! I have never been to an all-inclusive resort before and it truly was worth it!!

Musa and I were literally in our bathing suits the ENTIRE trip. We would go to the pool, then the beach, then the sea and repeat! There we SO many activities, we played pool volleyball, had a massage on the sea, did water sports (sailing, paddleboarding, and wakeboarding), and snorkeled! We may have fallen off when we were tubing (embarrassing picture below).  For me, being in a bathing suit all day, drinking Pina Coladas is the ultimate vacation!!

Snorkeling was SO much fun! There was a huge reef off the coast and it was beautiful! The water was so clear and so blue, it was so easy to see everything! We saw sea urchins, tropical fish, baby barracudas, and a stingray!!

We stayed over Christmas and I was a little nervous spending a holiday away from home. I was also sad to be missing Christmas service! Sandals didn’t miss a beat! Everything was decorated for the holiday and they did a wonderful Christmas. On Christmas morning we had morning service at the water chapel. The floors were made of glass so you could see the bottom of the sea!! A local pastor came in and spoke the words we needed to hear on Christmas. It truly was a perfect Christmas!!

Jamaica was SO worth going to. The island was stunning, the people so genuine, and the resort had everything you could possibly need. Here are some pictures from our time in Jamaica!!
