Our Family Vacation
Hilton Head Island, South Carolina
We had such a wonderful family vacation in Hilton Head, South Carolina! Our families were planning this trip for a little over a year! Both my family and Musa’s parents came down for a week of relaxation, good company, and of course delicious food! It’s so nice that both of our parents love to vacation with each other! It makes family trips more fun!
I grew up going to Hilton Head every Thanksgiving! My family LOVES this place. It’s sort of our annual family tradition! The beaches are amazing, quiet, and the weather is absolute perfection! We decided instead of going in November to go in May so the weather would be warmer. And it was the best decision we made! May weather on this island is SO nice. Not too hot or humid. The ocean is SO warm and a perfect temperature to swim in!
We rented a house right on the ocean! The house had a little pool, hot tub, and of course a fantastic ocean view. We literally spent our time going from the pool to the ocean on repeat!! My favorite part was reading my books in the hammock! There’s nothing like the sound of the ocean as you read. It’s seriously something straight out of a movie!
This vacation was extra special because it was Mother’s Day and my sister, Avvi’s Birthday! It was so nice to spend Mother’s Day with both of our moms! We made them an omelet brunch and opened cards together. It truly was one of our favorite Mother’s Day celebrations! Avvi’s birthday was SO much fun. We had a “Crabby Avvi” crab boil with blue crabs and grilled oysters! YUM! We went down to the harbor early that morning to pick out the catch of the day! It was so cool to see everything come in fresh off the boats!
My favorite part was, of course, family photos on the beach! Sunset over the ocean is amazing! There’s nothing like beach photos, so dreamy! This trip couldn’t have come at a better time, right at the beginning of wedding season. It was SO nice to relax before things get too busy! Here are some photos from our family vacation!
