Our Engagement Session

Alley Park

Lancaster, Ohio

When it came to my engagement session, I had my mindset on a winter wonderland theme! Since Musa proposed in December (read about how he proposed here), I thought it was only fitting to have our engagement photos taken in the wintertime. The hardest part of planning a winter engagement session is the weather! We waited and waited for snow with no luck! It would either rain or flurry but nothing would stick to the ground. I was getting nervous that my dream engagement session wouldn’t happen! Our wedding photographer, Krista Piper, said that there was a snow storm up in Lancaster, Ohio. We quickly got in the car and headed over to Alley Park!

We were not disappointed when we arrived! Not only was it snowing outside, but there was A LOT of snow on the ground. We were in for a perfect winter wonderland engagement session. Musa’s dad brought our two dogs Mojo and Rex over for some family photos! Rex had a hard time paying attention to the camera because he LOVES snowflakes. Every time they move (which of course is constant) he has to catch them! We were able to get our family photos after a lot of animal noises and treats!! After the pups left we all headed to the park.

We had SO much fun! The snow was gorgeous and the park even prettier. There was a frozen lake, covered bridge, and gorgeous snow-covered trails. It was, however, VERY cold!! Changing outside was quite the challenge but well worth it. We were able to warm up with blankets and hot chocolate which made everything so romantic and cozy! It was everything I could have dreamed of for a winter engagement session. Check out Krista’s blog post of our session here!
