It is said that greatness is in the details, and it couldn’t be more true for this sweet wedding. Alissa and Chris are surrounded by a legacy of love. This was so evident from all of the details that made up their wedding day. From hand-made handkerchiefs from Alissa’s grandmother to the handstitched ring pillow, these two were surrounded with such love on their wedding day.
Chris and Alissa met at a summer camp and hit it off right from the start! Alissa’s best friend, Emily, couldn’t have said it better in her toast to the newlyweds. She said they just wanted Alissa to find a good Christian camp guy, and low and behold, that summer they met Chris! Such a fun story! Right?!
Alissa wore a stunning illusion lace sleeved wedding gown with a sweet floral headband. It was so elegant and so Alissa. She was an absolutely radiant bride! These two were married at the Powell United Methodist Church in Powell, Ohio. I had the privilege of attending the rehearsal dinner on their wedding eve. It was so much fun meeting all of the family members and watching as Chris and Alissa took the first steps to get married. However, the best part about this was the actual ceremony.
The bridesmaids had just walked down the aisle. The doors to the sanctuary closed. The music began to play. The guests took to their feet. And, as if in a movie, the large wooden doors opened with natural light flooding in. There stood Alissa and her father, about to walk down the aisle to her husband-to-be. The look on Chris’s face was priceless. His face said it all. He waited in anticipation as those doors began to open and once he saw his bride, emotions flooded his heart. He reached for their family heirloom handkerchief and dabbed his eyes as he saw the love of his life walking towards him. Alissa truly was a vision and their love for one another was felt throughout the room. I will never forget this moment.
The reception was held at the Columbus Marriott Northwest in Dublin, Ohio. The rest of the evening was spent celebrating this newly married couple. What a fun and special day for two amazing people!
