A Letter For The Bride-To-Be

The #1 Thing To Do On Your Wedding Day

“Now, at last, they were beginning Chapter One of the great story no one on earth has ever read, which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before.” – C.S. Lewis

For the Bride-to-be,

You plan your wedding for months, sometimes even years. From the vendors to the timeline, narrowing down each and every detail of your day. You try the food, get fitted for the attire, and find the perfect wedding rings. Wedding planning seems to take forever, but your wedding day will absolutely fly.

My number one advice for couples on their wedding day is to be present at the moment and savor your day. No matter what happens or if things don’t go according to plan, remember on your wedding day you are getting married! You are marrying your best friend and in the end, that is all that matters.

Your ceremony will start when you walk down the aisle. Even if its a few minutes behind schedule. Don’t worry, because the ceremony is what it is all about. My favorite part from my own wedding day was the ceremony, it is the reason for your celebration, for your day. To have all of your loved ones there to witness your love and covenant with one another is so special.

So, for my bride-to-be, my #1 piece of advice on your wedding day is to take time after your ceremony, even if it is for just a few minutes to be alone with your husband. After you are announced husband and wife, take 5 minutes to savor this day, to soak in the fact that you just vowed forever and always. I promise you it will be the moment you remember most on your wedding day. Yes, your 5 private minutes. After all, that is what your wedding day is all about!
