6 Wedding Trends In 2019

6 Wedding Trends In 2019

new trends to consider for your 2019 wedding

1) Wedding Ceremony in The Round

This is for the bride and groom who would like a more intimate wedding ceremony setting. Some couples are uncomfortable being “onstage” and their guests far away from the action. A way to achieve a cozy ambiance is to arrange the guests’ chairs in a semi-circle or a complete circle. Check with your venue if they would consider this option. Couples who stage the wedding ceremony in the round create an immediate warmth and closeness. Who doesn’t want their family and friends surrounding them on their special day?! Plus, every guest has a great seat to witness the “I do’s”!

2) Balloons

Balloons are all the rage for weddings! The balloon industry has come up with sophisticated designs, creations, and colors for stunning arches,  photo-op walls, and the traditional escort card table. How fun for your guests to find their name and table number on a balloon! Think about tying the balloon to a bracelet so that your guest slips the bracelet on and mingles during cocktail hour creating a fun and festive mood. Once at their table, they can slide the bracelet onto the back of the chair or even better incorporate them into your tablescape. Many balloon designs are using florals as fillers in their creations. You may want to have your balloon company collaborate with your florist to come up with unique and beautiful options for your wedding.

3) Build Your Own Hotel Hospitality Station

We all heard of the Interactive Food Stations for the wedding reception, (all the rage this 2019!) But now, the interactive fun starts right when your guests enter the hotel! Instead of making up individual hotel hospitality bags, couples are setting up a goodie bag assembly station in the hotel. No more are guests checking in, grabbing a bag and isolating themselves in their hotel rooms. Instead, a hospitality station sets the tone for your wedding. It provides an area for them to start celebrating and to mingle with family/friends. Plus, it saves you the time and energy of having to collate all the items into individual hospitality bags! Just make sure the hotel has an area where you can place your hospitality assembly station for your guests and your guests only!

4) Non-Traditional Florals

Ornamental grasses are in fashion, and it is easy to see why. The plumes are large and feathery and come in three romantic colors; white, beige and pink. They are versatile, affordable, and offered all year round.  Brides who want a chic and dramatic floral scene-stealer will incorporate pampas grass into their bouquets, arches, centerpieces, and backdrops.

5) Vellum Paper

This romantic sheer paper is the accent to watch. Calligraphy escort cards on vellum paper is a romantic detail for any wedding tablescape. The use of vellum overlays for your wedding invitations and envelopes with beautiful hand-drawn artwork is another breathtaking element. Vellum is a unique medium, but others that will be following will be leather, suede, acrylic and gold leafing, just a heads up!

6) Personalized Place Settings

Personalized place settings are replacing generic place cards. Think about handwritten calligraphy thank you note on a circular piece of vellum paper placed in the center of your guest’s dinner plate. The illusion looks like you wrote it on the plate.  This sentimental presentation adds an impressive, thoughtful and romantic detail to any wedding tablescape!
